Decatur CD's Upcoming Show Guide

2008 is already half over*, folks! Time to get out and see a show before it's too late! You don't want to have to tell your grandchildren about the "Great Live Music Drought of '08" or some junk, do you? We thought not. As such, below is a list of shows this month that we think you should go to (and which we will likely be going to as well). There is a quality show almost every day until the end of the month. Beginning tonight, there are a pair of local talents performing at The EARL and Star Bar respectively, and the legendary Yo La Tengo (pictured above) will be stopping by Variety. Now that we've compiled this list, we don't expect you to be staying in many nights. Get out there and support live music, y'all:

TONIGHT: Yo La Tengo @ Variety Playhouse
TONIGHT: Attractive Eighties Women CD-release @ The EARL
TONIGHT: The Coathangers @ Star Bar
Jan. 18: Yeasayer, MGMT @ The EARL
Jan. 19: Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings @ Variety
Jan. 19: The Carbonas @ Star Bar
Jan. 21: Six Organs of Admittance @ The EARL
Jan. 21: Emily Saliers (Indigo Girls) and Friends @ Eddie's Attic
Jan. 22: Black Lips @ The Library Plaza on GSU's campus (FREE @ Noon!)
Jan. 25: The Whigs CD-release @ The EARL
Jan. 26: The Selmanaires and Anna Kramer dual CD-release @ The EARL
Jan. 30: High on Fire @ The EARL
Jan. 30: Super Furry Animials @ Variety
Jan. 31: Zoroaster @ Drunken Unicorn

* This isn't even remotely close to being true. Not even for the sake of exagerration. Not at all. Please rest assured that the appopriate DCD fact-checker has been sacked. For that matter, the HR guy who hired the delinquent anti-defender of truth has also been sacked. Our apologies.
