Terrific Thursday Sale

Around DCD HQ, we subscribe to the Nordstrom line of thinking this time of year: We just like celebrating one holiday at a time. That being said, now that the gobbling (of both sleep-inducing food and exclusive vinyl varieties) has come to an end, it's time to break out the jolly music. They say it's the most wonderful time of the year, and we're inclined to agree. As such, our holiday tunes are out in full force. You can find them in the usual bin, right across from the cash register, where the new-arrival used stuff resides the rest of the year.

Meanwhile, tomorrow is not only the first day of December, it's also Terrific Thursday! We'll be celebrating by marking everything in the store 10% off for one day only. Let's get this month off to a great start. There is one catch to the sale, though. In order to reap the benefits of sweet, sweet discounted music, you need to tell us, when you get up to the counter with your purchases, why Thursday is so terrific. Give us your opinion, we'll give you 10% off. And if you think Thursday is terrible, that's fine too. We're not here to boss you around. Not too much, anyway.

See you tomorrow, then! Let's make it terrific.

Dwight Yoakam, Mastodon Ticket Giveaways

We know many of you are fans of Dwight Yoakam. Good news! He's playing at Wild Bill's in Duluth on Saturday, December 3rd. Even better, we've got a pair of tickets to give away, courtesy of the nice folks at Warners. All you have to do to enter is stop by the store, fill out our makeshift entry form, and hope to win. We'll be drawing on December 1st, so come see us before then. In the meantime, we have another ticket giveaway:

On the opposite end of the musical spectrum, but no less awesome, we have Atlanta's own Mastodon, who will be rocking the Tabernacle on Friday December 2nd. We have two pair of tickets to give away to this show, again courtesy of Warners. You know the drill: Head to the store, enter, (hopefully) win. The entry deadline for Mastodon is a little earlier, 29 November 2011. Hopefully, we'll be seeing you on Black Friday anyway, so you can enter then. See you soon!

Save the Date: Numero Group Meet 'n' Greet, DJ Night, Record Sale

No doubt you've heard us go on about the Numero Group. The Chicago-based imprint is by far one of our favorite labels going, releasing all kinds of awesome, obscure archival stuff, everything from funk to power pop, gospel to folk. Well, the folks behind Numero are coming to town next week, and we're happy to say they're going to stop by good old Decatur CD to hang around on the afternoon of Wednesday, Nov. 16. Later on that evening, they'll be DJ'ing at 529 in East Atlanta and selling records. Needless to say, we highly recommend you attend this show.
